The Haunting 

Show Rules and Information

General Information

Info for all Showers and Classes

  • The Haunting is an open show.

  • Entry is open to any and all model horse showers.

  • Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Vendor tables will be available for the show.

  • Entrants are encouraged to bring vintage models/accessories/etc. to sell.

  • TENTATIVELY, the show will begin at 8:00a. Set up will begin at 7:00a. 

  • There will be a short break for lunch at 12:00 p.m.

General Class Information

Relates to all Divisions

  • The Haunting will use the card system for judging.

    • Each model must have a 3”x5” card with its NAME, BREED, GENDER, and OWNER’S NAME.

      • Name, breed, and gender should be on one side of the card, and the owner’s name should be on the other.

    • The judge will take the cards for the horses placing first-sixth in a class.

    • First and second place horses (and sectional champs and reserves) will need another card for call-backs.

    • Please print legibly.

  • Custom resin tokens will be awarded to 1st -6th place, with sectional champions and reserve champions receiving custom resin awards. Division champs and reserves will receive fun prizes.

  • There is a limit of three (3) horses per class per shower.

  • A horse may show in both halter and performance, but (as halter and performance will be running at the same time) classes will not be held for those models.

  • Classes may be split if the number or type of entries warrant.

Halter Information

Info Specific to Halter Divisions

  • Each horse may only show in one halter class in one division.

  • Definition of Original Finish: any mass-produced or limited model of china, resin, plastic, etc, from any company that is in original factory condition with no noticeable repairs or touch-ups.

  • Definition of Custom: any model that has been modified in any way from its original factory condition; this includes finish, color, position, etc.  

  • Definition of Mini: any model smaller than Breyer's Classic series (includes Paddock Pals, Stablemates, Pebbles, Chips, etc.). 

  • Decisions regarding the placement of a certain breed will be left to the judge of that division.

Performance Information

Info Specific to Performance Divisions

  • There will be a seven (7) minute limit between performance classes.

  • This will be strictly enforced.

Fun Classes

Info Specific to Fun Classes

  • Fun Classes will be judged during the lunch break at 12:00p.

  • Only Fantasy (50% or more equine) is eligible for NAN cards (if approved).

  • The other classes will receive special prizes to be determined.

  • These classes are supposed to be FUN, so let’s do this!

  • Jurassic Performance

    • I want to see your DINOSAURS! Can dinos do western pleasure? What about T-rex roping? Let me see what you’ve got!

  • The Haunting:

    • Let’s see your spooky, scary, gory, whatever performance set ups! Got a scene from The Walking Dead you’ve always wanted to try? What about Freddie Kruger riding a bronco? This is the class!

  • Cattle and Other Animals:

    • These two are for Dad, guys. Make him proud!
